Mounting systems, screws and inserts

Fasteners systems

In order to know if a screw is compatible with a nut or stud bolt are compatible, we have to look at the internal thread of the screw and at the thread of the nut or stud bolt, which must coincide.

For example, if we choose a nut or stud boy with a 6 metric screw thread (M6), the screw also has to have an internal metric thread of 6 (M6).

M8 or M8x1 refers to the metric thread and thread pitch of a screw.

In the European market the 1.25 mm thread is common and it is named M8.

On the contrary, when dealing with a fine 1 mm screw thread, M8X1 is used.

In the Italian market a different name is used, 8MA for M8 and 8MB for M8X1.

What is the difference between M8 and M8x1 of a screw?

Stands for the Alfa shelf are semi-hidden systems that are very discreet for fastening shelves using wedge assembly. Ideal for furniture with racks of Ø3mm or Ø5mm.
In order to assemble it, it is necessary to have a Normal 360 hook and an Alfa Alfa Foro or Alfa Speed support. Remember to ask for 4 unites of hooks and supports per stand.

The choice of the Normal 360 hook is made depending on the thickness of the shelf.

The choice of the Alfa supports also depends on the thickness of the shelf and also on the rack on the side:

- For a rack of Ø3, you will use the Alfa Foro support. For installation on Ø3 drill racks, which are more discreet and have less visual impact than Ø5mm drill racks. Always remember to ask with the Alfa screw code 401290.

- For drill racks of Ø5, you will use the Alfa Speed support. For installation on the side using pressure, it can be disassembled easily by hand without damaging the sides of the furniture.
